God help me with my sudden weight gain to obesity from taking antidepressant drugs. The obesity is a killer and more depressing than the origional depression. Help me get some peace with my psychiatrist and help my therapist help me. I need help so badly. I want a life again God. Can you please take this burden from me God? However I have been through divorce and it is a rough road. I have experienced infidelity and if you love the partner, there is a great deal of pain and a loss of trust. I suspect that your strong beliefs and co-dependence may actually inhibit a reconciliation. I hope not, if my comments are relevant as I do not know why he left you.

Some people say that they're depressed over silly little things. Such as that their car has been damaged or something like that. I pray that you stop being so self centered and open up to those who are really suffering. I juts got the news that my best friend has been diagnosed with colon cancer and that it has spread to his liver. Most people would let this ruin their lives, but I know that the best way to deal with these issues is to be faithful to Buddha and live life to the fullest and try to be a better person everyday of your life. Happy Visakha Puja, the Trice Sacred Day {26 May 2002} {B.E 2547} In honour of the Buddha, let us try to live up to his enlightening teachings. In his message to the world, the Buddha mentioned that we honour him best by living his teachings. Most of us thought that by offering flowers, candles, going to temples are ways to honour the Buddha. Well, this Wesak should awaken us to practice his teachings as a way to honour him! Loud recitations, prostrations, offerings and singing hymns should come second when the intention arose for us to honour the Buddha. In actual fact, the Buddha抯 original teachings termed as Dhamma is as simple as this: 揂void evil , do good , purify the mind� There are no compulsory rites and rituals, animal sacrifice, prayers or anything that goes under the term religion. There are such things as practising morality, generosity and mental cultivation in this noble way of life that the Buddha has taught. So, to truly honour the Buddha, here are 3 chosen evaluative sayings of the Buddha that all of us can use to evaluate ourselves to see if we have lived up to standard Buddhism : 揟hose who see the Dhamma sees me� Have you 憇een� the Buddha? 揟hose who serve the sick serves me� Have you 憇erved� the Buddha? 揟hose who practice my teachings honours me best� Have you 慼onoured� the Buddha? � if not, it is high time for us to consider and get our practice right as a true Buddhist! The right path to 憌alk� is through the Noble Eightfold Path : Right Understanding, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness and Right Concentration. The foundation for living are the five precepts for ordinary people which calls for avoiding killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, negative speech and lastly substances which numbs the mind and body like alcohol, cigarettes and vulgar songs. The best dwelling are in these four supreme mental states, also called the abode of Brahma (Brahma Vihara) : loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. The supreme blessing is the realisation of Nibbana, meaning the cessation of greed, hatred and delusion, releasing us from suffering through rounds of countless rebirth. Constant awareness of every passing mental and physical process together with meditation aids us to purify the mind. So now, realising these we can now answer the question of whether we are truly honouring the Buddha. Happy honouring the Buddha, the teacher of all beings! Happy Wesak ! my prayer is for my children and myself, on the 23rd of this month i will be finalizing my divorce, it was an emotional and abusive relationship and the divorce process has also been a long hard road, my children have to see the judge and tell her things they saw and heard and i pray the lord will be with them during this, to give them the strength and courage, they are frightened, we are growing better every day and getting stronger as a family, but there are still alot of fears and tears that will still have to be tended to, we are also going to be moving to another state to start a new life, the lord has opened doors for us and we pray every day that he will supply for our needs to get this done and needs for when we get there, i have no doubt that he will supply, but to have others praying for us too is added comfort! we need a place to live when we get there, we have a place to stay, but we pray for a home of our own and for the means to get this place and for the means to make this move, the lord is good and will supply, but to have extra help with our prayers would be greatly appreciated! i hove 3 wonderful children from the lord 2 girls and a son! we would love prays for strength, courage, funds, and for more smiles and love! thank you for your time and prayers

I just wabt to clear this up: I don't hate life. I don't hate god. Although i don't believe in god, i still love life. I am sad for many people who have been mislead. But i think that god was a pretty good idea to keep people in line morally. many good things have come from people who are firm believers of any god. I agree with diana that many troubles come in life, but those are all avoidable with simple changes. god is not one of those changes. I live in a way that makes me happy and satisfied. to those who argue with me, think to yourself: do you? do you really have no regrets? might be good to think about...

This is my first visit to this bored, and I was suprised at what I was reading. I thought that this was a pray bored and all I was reading was people thrashing god and talking about suicide. Someone said "If there was a god, why would he do this to his people?" Well, God didn't do this to his people. If you recall, god created us only in his image. He had a plan, but maybe his one mistake was giving humans free will. For it is our own decisions that make the world what it is. God gave us the freedom of choice, which is a blessing, not a curse. The reality is that there are people out there who are making bad choices and decsions that effect everyone in the world. If we can learn to embrace the difficult times with the understanding that everything we are going through has been sifted through the hands of god, we will begin to see past the trouble and instead see that we are blessed. Each experience happens for a reason and serves to strengthen us and deepen our faith. If you are waiting for life to be perfect before you are able to rejoice, then you may be waiting for a very long time or living on a roller coaster of emotions. Don't let little obstacles lead you away from the path to his glory and rejoice that what is changed in us will reap eternal benefits in heaven. If you ever feel so miserable that you don't want to go on, say this prayer "Lord, give me strength to embrace my difficulties in my life with joy. I can rejoice knowing that whatever trouble I may face that you are creating me by your hands of love. Help me to see past the problems abd to the end result. Make me come forth as gold. My heart rejoices in you! Amen." I know this is all easier said than done, but you have to keep on keeping on. Keep you head up!

P.S. to Diana and Mercury-just in case you think this is someone who's never really dealt with any real suffering-I was by turns neglected and severely emotionally battered as a child, went thru a series of abusive relationships as a young woman, did a rather spectacular period of drinking and drugging in my younger thirties, and was in general a very angry and bitter person-I hated myself, even though I was desperate for others to love me, and couldn't understand why things kept messing up and I kept messing up even though I was trying very hard to be a good person. I was fortunate in that here and there, people came along who cared enough to help me find some clues-and some good in myself...and a different way of seeing things. It takes time-but, it really, really can be done-my life is happy even tho' I have very little extra money, still battle with my weight and how I feel about my body, I'm still trying to get off cigarettes for good, and can still have some pretty nasty mood swings if I don't pay attention to what's going on. But those things are not my entire life- my house is a little run-down shanty in a blue-collar neighborhood, but it's my little castle even if it's rented. A place to plant a garden, love my cats, and be at home in. Nothing fancy by any means but enough. I have enough to eat, and enough to share with friends. I have a happy relationship with a very good man who offers me love, respect and encouragement; a terrific circle of friends; a great job that I really enjoy most of the time. It's never perfect-but there's much more good than bad now, and things keep getting better as I continue to learn and grow. I will always make mistakes-I'm human. But it is possible to learn and move beyond them-with a little forgiveness. Anyway, my point is, even though you might be in a bad place now, if you choose, you can find joy in this world-if I can, anyone can. Open your hearts, invite it, and the help will come to you, in whatever form you need most. It starts with opening up to the possibility. So mote it be...if you so choose. Diane & Mercury-if only you could accept that you're hanging on to your misery for dear life-if you don't want to learn, how can you expect anything to change? How can you know anything different if you refuse to see anything else than what you presently know? There's a whole lot more to the world than gloom and despair-you have to be willing to open yourself to see good and accept its presence in the world. It's there, too! And no, suffering never goes away entirely-our perception of suffering can change when it comes along, though, and we can use it to learn lessons we need to learn-that, indeed is its purpose. And we can lessen its frequency and intensity in our own lives by learning to avoid thoughts and actions and situations that create suffering. We learn to cause others less pain through our actions too. My heart goes out to both of you, because I've been where you are, and it sucks to feel that way! It really does feel like hell...But, if you start looking for good in yourselves, and in the world around you, you really will find it-life isn't perfect for me even now, but it is a happy one, now, and it turned around for me because I was willing to take a chance that things could be different. You do much to create the world around you with your own mind, and it is possible, with a lot of hard work, to change it-by changing your mind. Not by ignoring our suffering, or the suffering of others-but by choosing to live, just the same, in spite of it. And to know that, it can and will pass, if we allow it. Blessings to both of you-I hope you both find all the things that you need to find a little happiness and a little peace. It's there for the taking-please believe it.

to dive into ones pain and suffering is not such a bad experience.the realms of hell are no great place to visit, however,it apparently seems to be a part of this life, that none of us can escape.From my own experience with this.I take a closer look into the eyes of mankind, and see their suffering, and the love that transcends. I have more compassion and understanding for others because of the pain and suffering I have truly experienced.That is life to jump into its painful depths and come out on the other side realizing that is life, we are all in this together,we can only change with change,love with love.To empty ones mind of pain and suffering is not going to be possible in this human body and mind,it is how we react to what we experience,everyday we have a chance to react a different way, in that wisdom and love may be, the end result.hold on much love to all.

Also, keep in mind two things. 1)In order for you to hate God, you must first beleive in one. This is a difficult point which I have, and still struggle with on a daily basis. 2)To not exist would not be peace, it would be nothing. That is the fact of non-existence(although I do understand kind of what you mean, and that is why I am worried about your state of affairs). Crusader I have to disagree with you. If there was a God certainly this "God" would not keep this world in darkness and have it's people suffer the way they do. I don't know sometimes I feel like there is no God and other times I am furious with her/him. I mean what is this place? Why is this world so messed up? Diana, I hope that you are feeling better. You are still in my thougths and prayers. Perhaps everyone on this page could do something to fight the gloom, even you Diana. You say that you wish God would spread some light in the world. In order to do that there must be people that are willing help. For a long time I had many black periods too. I turned my back on God and began to suffer from frequent depressions. But looking back now, the majority of times I felt God had put me in blackness, I simply had my eyes closed. The other times I know that God must have been there in some form to help me pull through, like in the story about the footprints in the sand. There will always be hard periods for all of us. All the people of the world must learn how to wake up and see the light. For this I pray. cheers

Having been there and felt that way myself, I want to offer you an idea: no matter how awful things are, we all have something to be grateful for. What helped me in my darkest moment was a suggestion from someone who cared: to think of 10 things (however small) to be thankful for. I thought, and not only were there 10, but the list kept growing...and then, when the horrible depressing thoughts would start to overwhelm me again, I thought of those things again. By and by, I started looking at what was beautiful and good more, and more, and my focus changed. Life is a much different thing than it was back in those bad old days. I wish the same for you-you can find the light, please believe that. In the end, we have to chose to pull ourselves out of that terrible dark place. You can do it. All blessings to you-peace, joy and love can be yours, dear lady-it's your birthright as a child of creation. For all the sad, awful things that happen in this world, there is also great beauty and great good. Believe, hang in there no matter what, and take one little step at a time...

Dear Heavenly father, I pray that all beings come together in peace, and that the greatest of these be love, love unconditional.every fall from the shot of a gun,bomb,is a death i have died a million times.May the glory of God`s creation shine within all hearts,may we stand together for world peace united. No more fighting over worldly beliefs and material things. To work together unified in a higher power of conscience.To look into the eyes of all of God`s creation with love and compassion.My heart is heavy,my burden to bare, my strength if weak, yet the cross I see to turn to in this time of worldly unrest and war. Dear God, please go into the minds and souls of those who think war is the answer.Drop the guns of warfare, and take care of the sick,the poor, our children,a world where,we can all get along and ask for forgiveness and pray for peace. and love our enemies, so that they could see that we are here just as they, to live in harmony.....all i can say is our father who art in heaven...................... 1ncewaslost, thank you for hearing my pain and responding to it. I guess that's what I'm looking for when I come here. An understanding heart that does't judge. It's so hard being alive sometimes. I feel like I can't handle this world. I hate it here. It's full of terror and gloom. I wish that God would spread some more light. More of the light that circulates this page. I will try to remember that God loves me but sometimes I have this love/hate relationship with him/her. I get so mad when I think of how he/she abandoned me. I'm furious!

Please dear God heal the people in the middle east. If the men want to kill eachother let them but God please save the women, the children and the animals. Please god this pain is too much for us to bear anymore. The suffering of these beings is too much. It won't be long before they come this way again and blow something else up. My guess is it will the the Empire State building next or the United Nations. God please please come and hear the cries of our world? Have you a deaf ear? What have we done that we are so punished?
