Fan speed levels

How many fan speed levels does the PS3 have (for the A, B, E models)? I can't seem to find this information anywhere else, and I was hoping that someone here knows.

I think at least four for the launch models. How many have you found? I know there is a silent one, the extremely loud one. And I think about 2 levels inbetween.

I "think" there are 4 levels, however I am not sure. So far my PS3 hits level 3, when folding and upscaling a DVD, and that is a little loud.
