Thanks for your input. It is appreciated. Sorry about the delay in approving and replying your post (I have quite many things occupying my time)
In regards to your measuring the wattage to obtain the RSX size, there is NO one-to-one correlation at this moment that states a specific wattage equals a specific size. In fact, a lot of the PS3 innards are still secret, and Sony is changing them constantly with each revision. The fan size, heat sink, consolidation of the chips, etc. Sometimes (like the PSP) firmware updates are done with specific measures to protect the security of the system, and no public notice is given on what was changed.
What the webpage PS3 Secrets aims to do is to uncover those secrets. Are there going to be mistakes at certain times? Yes. However, just like a scientific process, with time more and more truths are discovered when more and more people (like you) uncover different aspects of the system. However, your interpretation (one of many) is not as reliable as prying off the cover of the RSX and measuring the size of the chip. That is the only one-to-one correlation (scientific) at this moment that can prove once and for all the size of the RSX in a specific PS3. An even better one is for the scientists responsible for the RSX shrinkage to confirm it publicly (assuming he is not trying to dish out disinformation to confuse the competition).
I notice you have taken it quite personally (since you own a CECHJ) that your PS3 must have a smaller size RSX. Rest assured as more and more people get more and more intimate knowledge about the PS3, someone will finally uncover the truth. And when that happens, the PS3 Secrets page will reflect this truth. With time old thinkings (sun revolves around the earth) gets replaced with better ones (earth revolves around the sun) to even better (each object like the earth and sun revolves around larger gravity/masses around them). So perhaps you can provide a better source? Or you can prove the wattage for your PS3 has a direct linkage to a RSX size reduction (and not some other changes on the motherboard). Note that you may be right, and if you are, then you actually are siding with my original assumptions (before I changed them). Unfortunately, they had to be changed because I could only get confirmed source on the CECHL (a very recently released PS3 in Japan at that time I might add). It was also the ONLY one that was disassembled with PROOF that the RSX (cover lifted) is 65nm and confirmation that the RSX 65nm existed. The figures were changed because a German tech site retracted their claim of 65nm RSX in earlier PS3, and if they (a pretty reputable site) can't back up their claim, I don't think I can either (but the best I can do is back a disassembly and reputable Japanese reporter).
So the PS3 Secrets page is not much different from a scientific process (hypothesis and fact finding). As for the PS4 Secrets, if you look at the top of the page, it is stated that it can't be 100% correct because the PS4 is not released, and it is mostly a prediction and speculation, but a dynamic one that will get closer and closer to a real PS4 when it gets released. I've read your reply at the forum above, and feel sorry you feel so negative about a small section of the PS3 Secrets page. I hope you look on the bright side and see that you probably gained more personally (via knowledge or whatever) from that page than anguish that your specific PS3 model is not listed on that page with a smaller RSX.
This is a long post. I hope it provides answers to future people who want to know how the facts get put into the page. Like science, it is a dynamic page, and it gets updated with better facts as they are uncovered (or discovered). Maybe one day Sony will come out and reveal their secrets, until then this page provides a service for people who want to know the truth.
http://www.edepot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1532 contains pics of the 65nm RSX (CECHL). Having said all that if someone has lifted the cover of the RSX on the CECHJ and CECHK (it is not a hard procedure, as it is easily lifted, unlike the CELL cover) and simply take a photo, it would provide proof that the first RSX was placed inside before the japanese CECHL.
