Here is a picture of the 90nm RSX exposed (from PS3 model CECHA00).

Here is another picture of both the Cell and RSX chips with their tops off exposed. Both are 90nm.

Cell is the rectangular white chip on the left. RSX is the square blue chip on the right.

Here is the 65nm RSX scaled to the same size as above. This one came from the CECHL00 PS3 Model. Note that the chip is now rectangular in size as opposed to the square size of the 90nm RSX.

Did you use this as the basis to change the CECHK 80GB model to it being 90nm RSX?

I may be wrong but I think you have misread the above websites. What the website does say is this

in an interview with Mr. Chika Nishida Hazime of, "40GB version of the 90nm manufacturing process is the RSX-generation, 80GB version will change to the 65nm generation. SCE according to the spokesman, shipments in Japan The 80GB version is exhaustive Cell, RSX and 65nm generations together "the term, 80GB version is a big difference to the eye and the 40GB version, but the main processor and process 2 is the new version slump. I actually bought the 80GB version, to try and check the power consumption.

I have a forum topic showing the CECHK 80GB and also the CECHJ 40GB are 65nm RSX too, which is what you originally had on your list.

Please change it as you are giving a lot of people incorrect information.

How did you expose these chips?
There are still alive ? I mean PS3 is operable.
PC mobo modders prooved that exposed chips are far far more susceptible to cooling, so this is promising direction.

The RSX top is very easy to remove. Just ply it open with any thin blade. The Cell top is very difficult, so don't ply it open unless you are experienced.

Did you mount the heatsink on the exposed chips and the PS3 is working?
