Using Yellowdog 6.1 installed, you can basically view the contents of blu-ray discs. Inserting a game (like MGS4) while in Gnome on YDL 6.1 will result in a PS3VOLUME icon appearing on the desktop. You can basically browse and navigate inside the blu-ray at this point. Here is the root contents of a Metal Gear Solid 4 Blu-ray disc:
PS3_GAME/
PS3_UPDATE/
PS3_DISC.SFB
Inside PS3_GAME:
userdir/
ICON0.PNG
ICON1.PAM
PARAM.SFO
PIC1.PNG
PS3LOGO.DAT
SND0.AT3
Inside PS3_UPDATE:
PS3UPDAT.PUP
Every PS3 blu-ray disc game normally has a PS3_UPDATE directory containing a PS3 firmware update file. It is there in case some users don't have an internet connection and are stuck in lower firmware, so they can conveniently install an updated firmware from the blu-ray disc. Normally the firmware version is the minimum version required to run the blu-ray game.
The largest size of a game is 25GB for single sided and 50GB for double sided blu-ray discs. MGS4 is a double layer disc game and is actually 30.1GB in size.
