PS3 Serial

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if you guys knew about the serial number of the PS3, and what each part means.

Sony can tell wheither it's new or a refurbished unit.

the serial : XX-XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXX-CECHXXX

Something like that; 2 digit, 8 digit, 7 digit, and last line.

Can anyone please explain this?
