How does Taoism make itself known?

Postby Kezzang on Sat Dec 20, 2008 2:22 pm

Hi everybody!

You will find some questions down below in this e-mail. I would be most grateful if I could have some answers from members in your community. Please feel free to comment any of them - your perspective how the Internet has affected you and your taoist group.

My name is Marlene, 50 years old. I study the second year at university in Stockholm, Sweden, at the journalist program with history of religion as social subject. I am now writing on an essay on taoism in school, with the purpose of investigate and compare how some taoist groups/communities in Sweden and abroad use the Internet as in connection to their taoist interests and acitivities.

Many regards
Marlene

How does Taoism make itself known?
Especially through modern communication technology – Internet

1. How long has your group (or community) with the Tao existed?

2. How do you get the message of your community “out there” – do you use the Internet as an instrument in this regard? If so, how?

3. In what way has the Internet changed people's general awareness and knowledge that you exist and what you do, compared to before the Internet existed?

4. Have you noticed an increased or decreased interest from the public?

5. Do you use the Internet for communication between your adherents, and between leaders/organizers and adherents, and in that case how?

6. Has the modern communication tehnology in any apparent way transformed or developed your group/community – structure, alignment, focus?

7. What positive and/or negative effects has the global development of Internet had on your community or group?
