One of the greatest artistic achievement not really recognized in the world is the Chinese landscape paintings from ancient China. Although modern painters concentrate on realism, the past Chinese masters could depict whole ranges of mountains, lakes, streams, trees and other landscape scenery with just a few brush strokes. The ability to do this abstractly with a flick of a brush, but have the resultant image lifelike requires truly dedicated mastery of the brush.
