sony notebook memory issue

Postby plpmusic on Tue Oct 14, 2008 5:39 am

SONY VAIO VGN-325E. I just bought computer 6 months ago. It has 105GB of hard disk space. I only put Office, Adobe, Itunes software in it and my memory is completely full. I figured out the Photos/Music/Software and OS system space but 45GB is still unaccounted for and I don't understand why and how I can free it up!! what else can I do to get it cleared up? I am second owner and fear that 1st owner did not truly empty the drive as it was supposed to be delivered. Help!

The drive is probably partitioned. With the operating system on C: and other applications on D: or E: or whatever, depending on how it is partitioned. You need to install your office and other stuff on the biggest partition (probably D:). So go into your control panel and uninstall the office and other stuff and reinstall in the biggest partition. You can find out which is the biggest by opening the "my computer" folder and checking which is biggest.
